You can only use this site if you have requested an on-line registration letter from the surgery, which we would ask you collect in person for security reasons.
Please ensure you read the sections below for guidance on how to use the on-line facilities before use. Please note you will be required to enter an email address and mobile phone number to gain access to all the services.

Online Appointment Booking
All appointments shown on the online system are for ROUTINE appointments at 10 minute intervals. They are not suitable for Urgent appointments which need to be booked by Reception as below.
When you select to book an appointment, you will be shown all available routine appointments in date order detailed by GP or Practice Nurse and by venue (St James’s Surgery or Junction Road Surgery). Please see notes below for booking appointments with the Practice Nurse.
Once you select an appointment time, you will be prompted for a reason for the appointment, and it would be helpful if you could complete this box wherever possible.
If you are unable to make your appointment, please either cancel on-line, or call the surgery on 422911 (St James’s) or 422012 (Junction Road).
The surgery retains urgent same day appointments which are not available to book on-line. Many of these appointments are triaged through our Primary Care Nurse service.
These urgent appointments are released at 8am each day, and you should call St James’s on 422911 andJunction Road on 422012 for an appointment. Please note that these appointments are for urgent same day cases only.
Practice Nurse Appointments
The Practice Nurses run a variety of clinics in addition to Treatment Room work. You can book the following appointments on-line (Nurse General Surgery), ensuring you detail reason for the appointment when prompted. If you have more than 1 reason for seeing the nurse please arrange a longer appointment by phoning Reception.
- Blood pressure check
- Ear syringe – It is essential that you put oil in the affected ear for 5 days prior to your appointment.
- Smoking Cessation
- Flu vaccinations
- B12 vaccinations
- Cervical smear – please book for 14 days after day 1 of your menstrual cycle. *
- Repeat contraceptive pill if given by GP at this surgery. *
- Repeat contraceptive injection. *
- Repeat HRT if given by a GP at this surgery. *
However, for some clinics and health needs, it is NOT possible to book an appointment on-line, and you should instead call the surgery to make an appointment.
This applies to the following types of appointments as larger appointments may be necessary:
Removal of Stitches
Problems with Contraceptive
Blood Test Appointments
Please book online blood tests for the following: diabetes, heart disease, blood pressure, medication monitoring and hospital monitoring.
"The online facility to book blood test appointments is only to be used if you have been advised by a Doctor or nurse to have a blood test. If this is not the case, or you require an urgent blood test please call reception for advice. We may not be able to carry out a blood test at the time of your appointment if it has not been requested by a clinician.
Please be aware that you will be asked to fill in a travel risk assessment form before you can be seen by the nurse. You can either obtain the form from Reception beforehand or download of this website and email to us. The nurse cannot see you until this form if completed
Online Prescription Requests
When you log on to the secure site, and follow the link for prescriptions, you will be presented with a list of medication that you can request as a repeat items along with the date that this was last issued to you.
To select the item, simply click in the box to the left of the item, so that a tick is shown.
At the bottom of the page, there is a text box for any message you wish to accompany your prescription request. This box should be used for example, if you would like to have your prescription sent directly to a Pharmacy. We are able to send your prescription directly to the following pharmacies only:
- Boots (Southgate, Westgate, Mount Road, Weston & Twerton)
- Hawes Whiston (St James’s Square)
- Hounsell & Greene (Oldfield Park)
- John Preddy (Moorland Rd)
- Lifestyle (New Bond St)
- Lloyds (Odd Down & Combe Down)

- Superdrug (Westgate Street)
- Wellsway (Hounsell & Greene)
- Co-op (Fairfield Park)
- Larkhall pharmacy (Saviours Road)
- Sainsburys (Green Park)
- Widcome Pharmacy
Please then click to ‘Make Request’ and details of the requested items will be repeated back to. Please follow on-line instructions.
All on-line requests can be processed at St James's and Junction Road, please state which Surgery you will be collecting from or if you wish to collect from a Pharmacy please state this.
As with normal repeat prescription requests, if you are due a medication review, or need an appointment before the prescription can be issued, or have made excess requests for medication, you will be notified by a Receptionist.
Online Change of Contact Details
You can change details of your address, and phone numbers on-line. If your address changes to 'Out of area' can you inform reception in person.
Conditions of Use
Please ensure you keep your on-line access codes and passwords secret. Please note that the surgery is able to withdraw you access from on-line services at any time. Should your use of the system be deemed inappropriate, such as excess requests, your on-line access will be irrevocably withdrawn.
If you are unable to attend any appointment booked on-line, please inform the surgery immediately by calling 422911 (St James’s) or 422012 (Junction Road).
